How to generate a 1096 form

NOTE:  The IRS does NOT require a 1096 when filing electronically. These are for your use only.

If you need to generate a 1096, just follow these easy step- by- step instructions. 
  • Log into your account
  • On the dashboard, select the plus sign (+) in the upper right corner
  • In the 2nd column of options, select 'Generate Summary (1096/ACA)'

  • Find the payer you want and click on 1096 PDF. NOTE: Please make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled before selecting 1096 PDF.

  • Then you will get a watermarked 1096 that says, DO NOT MAIL TO IRS. This is only for your records, as the IRS does not require the form 1096 when you e-file.
